Today, on Tuesday, April 13th, the Fortnite servers on all platforms (PC/Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Android) will go down. During this time, the new update 16.20 will be deployed. What does the new patch contain?
What is happening today in Fortnite? The update 16.20 was announced by Fortnite Status on Twitter and is supposed to be deployed today. The patch brings some changes to the game.
Update 12:30 PM: The update 16.20 has now been deployed. We will show you in our German patch notes what has changed in the game.
Before players can start searching for all the new features, the Fortnite servers will be taken down for a while.
Fortnite servers are going down – when and for how long?
Downtime starts in the morning: The downtime for the update 16.20 starts earlier than usual today – at 8:00 AM German time. So at 7:30 AM you can join a new round for the last time, after that the servers will be taken down and Fortnite will be down for a short time.
How long will the maintenance work take? Fortnite Status has already announced that the downtime today will be a bit longer. However, since the downtime starts earlier, maintenance should be completed as usual around noon.
Technical problems or other delays could cause an extension of the maintenance work. If this is the case, you will hear about it here on MeinMMO from us.
When will the patch notes come? According to the experience of the last updates in the new chapter of Fortnite, there will likely be again no or only superficial patch notes for the battle royale mode from Epic published.
However, if major changes are deployed, we will collect them for you and create our own version of German patch notes. We will then publish these here on MeinMMO.

- Reworks for vehicles – Equipped with new wheels?
- A special duo cup with bows
- “50 player” matchmaking in creative mode
Maybe Epic will also bring one of the leaked bows found by data miners.
