Today, on Thursday, July 2nd, the Fortnite servers will go down on all platforms (PC/Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, iOS, Android). During this time, a new update will be applied. What’s included in the new patch?
What’s happening today in Fortnite? Fortnite Status has announced a new patch on Twitter. This is scheduled maintenance to fix bugs in the game. The patch is unlikely to bring new content.
Update 8:55 AM: The Fortnite servers are back online now and you should be able to join a match again. Since this is just maintenance work, you don’t have to download an update for it.
However, Fortnite servers will be taken down for this patch and will remain down for a while.
Fortnite servers are going down – When and for how long?
Downtime starts in the morning: Downtime will begin at 8:00 AM German time. You will be able to join a new match for the last time at 7:30 AM. After that, the servers will no longer be accessible and Fortnite will be down.
How long will the maintenance last? Based on experiences from the past weeks and months, the work should be completed by around lunchtime at the latest.

When will the patch notes be released? Probably, no patch notes will be published again for the battle royale mode from Epic Games.
Since this is just a patch for maintenance work, only minor bugs will likely be fixed. However, if there are significant changes, we will compile them for you and publish them in the form of patch notes on MeinMMO.
It’s not the first time that no patch notes have been published for the battle royale mode. In the last update 13.20, players searched for the changes themselves.
What new content does the update bring?
What’s new in the battle royale mode? In this update, only bugs that currently exist in the game are likely to be fixed. These bugs can currently be found in Fortnite:
- Gliding doesn’t work properly when near The Authority
- Setting markers causes players to be unable to move
- Black triangles appear behind a player when they are in the storm
- Players glide slower in certain situations
- The XP bar sometimes doesn’t display correctly in the game

What does the update bring for the “Save the World” mode? In Save the World, a new package series will start today, on Thursday, July 2nd. The first package will be available and will offer some benefits.
