What is happening today in Fortnite? The update 14.20 will be implemented on all platforms today. Fortnite Status announced the patch on Twitter. This is likely the 2nd content update of Season 4 – Chapter 2 and it could bring some changes.
Update 2:00 PM: The update 14.20 is now here and we show you in the German patch notes what has changed in the game.
Before players can go on an exploration tour and check out all the changes, as usual, the servers will be shut down.
Fortnite servers will be shut down – when and for how long?
Downtime starts in the morning: The downtime for update 14.20 starts at 10:00 AM German time. At 9:30 AM you can join a new round for the last time, afterwards the servers will be shut down and Fortnite will be down for a short time.
How long will the maintenance take? Based on experiences from the past weeks and months, the work should be completed around noon.
Technical problems or other delays may cause an extension of the maintenance work. If this is the case, you will be informed about it here on MeinMMO.
When will the patch notes come? Based on experiences with the respective updates in the new chapter of Fortnite, it is likely that there will again be no or only roughly explained patch notes for the battle royale mode.

What new content does update 14.20 bring?
What new things will there be in the battle royale mode? Fortnite Status has hidden a small hint that could indicate the content of today’s update.
“A new update takes over” could be a hint that a new Marvel superhero might take up a location on the map. With update 14.10, the new location “Stark Industries” was taken over by Iron Man. So it could happen again today.
Additionally, update 14.20 could bring some preparations for Fortnite’s 3rd birthday. This is already in a few days – on September 26th. Some possible gifts for players have already been found by data miners.
What does the update bring for the “Save the World” mode? The last update for Fortnite’s PvE mode brought back some spooky content. Everyone is already in the Halloween spirit there.
The Fortnite Nightmares will accompany players until November 20th. As RDW is now out of early access, Epic has announced that there will not be as many updates for the PvE mode as before.
