In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4 & Xbox One) will have the servers offline for a while on February 8, 2018. This is not a disruption. According to Epic’s official Twitter, the server maintenance is due to the deployment of Update 2.4.2. It features a Valentine’s Day event and a special crossbow.
The servers of Fortnite: Battle Royale are currently down. It is time for another update, and nothing works while it is being deployed: the servers are down.
- Update 2.4.2 will deactivate matchmaking for Fortnite: Battle Royale starting at 10:25 our time.
- The actual downtime will begin at 10:50 our time. From then on, the servers will be offline.
- How long the Fortnite servers will be down is currently unknown.
If all goes well, Fortnite will soon be functioning again throughout the day. We will keep you updated here if there are any new developments regarding the update process and the downtime.
Update 2.4.2 – Valentine’s Skins and Infinite Crossbow
Update 2.4.2 for Fortnite brings a Valentine’s event among other things. It includes unique skins, including a marble Cupid and a shabby pink bear. You can also embody Cupid in typical Fortnite fashion: with a crossbow that has infinite ammunition!
Ready to feel the love? Downtime for Patch V.2.4.2 will begin on February 8 at 4:50AM ET(0950 GMT). Matchmaking for Battle Royale will be disabled at 4:25AM ET(0925 GMT).

So spread sharp, pointy love among your fellow players! Moreover, this thing is completely silent! Additionally, there are a bunch of bug fixes and changes to the new shooting test mode. For instance, shotgun headshots now deal 200 percent more damage. Previously, it was only 150 percent.
The Valentine’s event with its own quest line and story for the PvE mode of Fortnite will come with the next update, 2.5.0.
Servers are back online!
The Fortnite servers came back online shortly after noon. Update 2.4.2 has been successfully deployed.
