What’s happening today in Fortnite? Update 14.00 will be deployed today across all platforms. “Fortnite Status” announced the update on Twitter. This marks the start of “Season 4”.
When does the new season come to Fortnite? With Update 14.00, Season 4 – Chapter 2 in Fortnite starts today, August 27. So far, the theme of the new season seems to be Marvel and superheroes.

Fortnite servers going down – when and for how long?
Downtime starts in the morning: The downtime will begin at 8:00 AM German time. You can log in for the last time at 7:30. After that, the servers will go down, and Fortnite will be unavailable.
How long will the maintenance take? Since Update 14.00 initiates a new season, the maintenance may take longer than usual.

What new content does Update 14.00 bring for the start of Season 4?
What new things will there be in battle royale mode? The start of Season 4 may bring some changes. While we didn’t get a live event at the end of Season 3, the comics in the game tease a story that could cause quite a stir in the game.
Something that will surely come with the start of Season 4 is a new Battle Pass. It remains to be seen if the pass will be completely filled with Marvel superheroes.
What does the update bring for the “Save the World” mode? After the PvE mode of Fortnite came out of early access, it no longer follows the same procedure as the battle royale mode.
Since there are now separate seasons, it is unclear whether Update 14.00 will also bring some new features for Save the World.
Players only have to wait a few more hours before it finally begins with the new Season 4. But not for everyone, as Fortnite remains blocked on iOS devices, and players there will not be able to switch to the new update. As Epic also states: These players will unfortunately be left behind in Season 3.
