The servers of Fortnite will be offline today, July 19, on all platforms (PC / Mac, PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Switch). This is not a disruption but a regular maintenance. Those who wanted to start the new weekly challenges directly at 10 AM will have to be patient. Epic surprisingly announced a server maintenance that started shortly after.

When does the server downtime start? Around 9:30 AM German time, player matchmaking was disabled. At 10:00 AM, the Fortnite servers were subsequently taken offline.
When will the Fortnite servers be back online? For smaller updates, the servers are usually back online after just a few hours, assuming Epic does not face major issues.

What will the update bring to Fortnite: Battle Royale? It is almost certain that players will be able to gift skins to other players after the update. A corresponding option has been in the menus since update 4.5.
It is unknown whether the update will bring new changes to the map, but it is quite possible. In Season 5, Epic is expected to tell a story that can mainly be followed through the changes in the map.
Changes to the golf carts? The golf carts are very popular. Recently, rumors have been circulating that it will soon be possible to dress the carts with skins. Whether and how Epic will implement this functionality today remains to be seen.
