What happens during the server downtime? The servers will be shut down. During this time, you cannot play Fortnite.
When does the server downtime in Fortnite start? The servers will be shut down on July 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM. A short time before (about half an hour), matchmaking will be disabled (via x.com).
When can I play Fortnite again? That depends on the size of the update and the duration of the downtime. This is a larger update, so expect 1 to 2 hours.
When will the patch notes be released? Epic Games is now only sporadically releasing patch notes for updates, usually only after the downtime. Once they are available, you will read them with us.

What can I expect with the upcoming update? Leaker Shiina has already made some speculations about what could be included in the update on X.com. The update is expected to bring new content to the battle royale. Here’s what you can expect:

- Live event files for August 2
- Battle Royale and OG Season 4 news and leaks
- Old collaborations return to the shop

Epic Games may still hide one or two shop items in the data. So expect that data miners or leaks will reveal plenty of information about upcoming content.
