Today, on Tuesday, August 31st, the Fortnite servers will go offline on all platforms (PC/Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Android). During this time, the new Update 17.50 will be deployed. What’s in the new patch? We at MeinMMO will report the new content to you.
What’s happening today in Fortnite? Update 17.50 was announced last night by Fortnite Status (via. Twitter) and is set to release today, Tuesday. This patch is expected to be the last of this season.
To ensure you don’t miss anything, we at MeinMMO will update the article for you, so you always have the latest information.
Fortnite servers go offline – when and for how long?
Downtime in the morning: The servers will be taken down at 10:00 AM our time to roll out Update 17.50. Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes before, so you won’t be able to start a round from 09:30 AM.
When can you play again? The servers will be offline for some time and playing will not be possible; the downtime is expected to last between 30 minutes and 2 hours. This has been shown by updates from previous weeks.
Of course, technical problems and delays can always occur during such work. We will keep you updated and keep the article current.
When will the patch notes come? As is customary with Epic Games, no patch notes are expected. Players will be sent on an exploration mission to discover the new features of the update.
If any information from Epic Games should appear, we will report it to you.
Update (08.31.21) The patch 17.50 has been rolled out; the following new content is currently known:
- A legendary quest line with extra experience
- New Creative challenges with free items you can earn
- New skins, emotes, etc.
- New legacy crew set added
The maintenance is complete and the servers are running again – now you can log back into Fortnite. These are all the new features so far after the patch.
What new content does Update 17.50 bring, and where are the patch notes?
So far, Epic Games has not released any information about this update – Hypex, a well-known leaker in the Fortnite scene (via. Twitter), however, mentioned beforehand that data for the new live event will be rolled out in the new Update 17.50. These will be encrypted and inaccessible to anyone.
So we can look forward to a live event for Season 7. If new information regarding this is released, MeinMMO will update this post.

The Island Games: A new series of challenges that you can compete in.
Fortnite is launching another LTM. There will be various tasks to complete, rewarding us with XP and some cosmetic items.
New Skins: In the course of this, some new skins have also been released.
With the exception of one skin, all match the seasonal setting of the aliens and blend in perfectly.
New Legacy Crew Set: Fortnite has now released a backbling with a bat that changes with each season purchased and unlocks new styles.

New Mode Menu: Fortnite has finally given its old mode selection menu a facelift, allowing you to favorite your favorite modes for quicker switching between them.
High-tech hullabaloo comes on Thursday
What is it? As part of the high-tech hullabaloo, alien and IO technology will be found more frequently. On floating alien platforms, there will only be Kymera rays, grab-o-trons, object transformers, and alien nanites.
IO chests will contain only impulse rifles, rail guns, plasma cannons, and cow glue. You will now also find Kymera rays, the impulse rifle, and the rail gun in regular chests. Additionally, there will be two legendary quest lines where you are supposed to inflict damage with alien weapons or IO guns.
When does it come? Starting Thursday at 4:00 PM CEST, the high-tech hullabaloo will begin.
