In Fortnite, the servers will be down today, March 19, on all platforms (PC, Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Android). The maintenance is being used to upload update 29.01 to the servers.
Unfortunately, there are still no patch notes and there probably won’t be any.
All leaks regarding patch 29.01
What is happening today in Fortnite? Epic Games is shutting down the servers of Chapter 5 Season 2 to upload a new update. This is the first update of Season 2.
If you missed the trailer for Chapter 5 Season 2, here is the video:
Fortnite: Server Down – When and how long are they offline?
This is the morning downtime: The servers are expected to be shut down by Epic Games at 9:00 AM German time. The matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes prior, so you won’t be able to search for new rounds after 8:30 AM.
When can you play again? This is a smaller update. It is therefore likely that Epic Games could bring the servers back online at 11:00 AM or even at 12:00 PM. This is not confirmed, however.
When will the patch notes be released? Epic Games usually publishes a brief list of patch notes on their site after the update. If that happens, we will summarize them for you here in a clear format.
What content could be included with update 29.01?
Epic Games reveals hardly any new information about upcoming content before a new update. This time it is a smaller patch that has already been described by leakers (via x.com). You can expect the following changes:
- New cosmetic items
- Big Midas event
- Drum gun & Mythical item from Hades
- New shop tabs
- New crew pack
- UEFN Rocket Racing
- Perhaps new collaborations
- And more!
