This is new in Fortnite: Hunting and crafting your own weapons are undoubtedly the two biggest gameplay additions in this new Season 6 of Fortnite. In this season of the battle royale aptly named “Prehistoric,” you can actually upgrade your weapons using animal bones and mechanical parts.
How to forge your own weapons
Weapon upgrades have been around in Fortnite: Battle Royale for a while, but never has the feature been so easy to access while in-game. Gone are the upgrade benches or even special NPCs. In Season 6, weapon upgrades can be performed anywhere and anytime. Just select one of your weapons from the inventory menu and upgrade it with the required resources.
Each weapon base is then divided into recipes, allowing you to specialize your original weapons according to your preferences! The material costs vary depending on the rarity of the variant you want to craft.
Where to find the resources?
The components you need to upgrade your gear are: animal bones and mechanical parts. You can find the bones by hunting and killing the new wild animals that inhabit the game island. A pack of wolves will obviously provide you with more resources than a chicken. To find wild animals, it’s easiest to venture into the forests and meadows, away from the hustle and bustle of the towns.
Mechanical parts can be found with certain NPCs on the island.
