In Fortnite, the Battle Royale mode overshadows the PvE of “Save the World”, but there is still a lot going on there. The expensive Deluxe Packs have now been removed and an interesting change is planned. We show you what will happen soon with “Save the World” in the patches.
Recently, there have been rumors that the PvE mode of “Save the World” will soon be free. Players who purchased access can no longer upgrade their version.
It was thought that because a comet appeared in the Battle Royale mode: This could herald the launch of Fortnite as a free-to-play title. After all, “Save the World” is supposed to be free in 2018.
But there are other reasons why the packs are no longer available for purchase.
Expensive upgrade options no longer available, too often stolen
Before Easter, Epic announced that the “Super Deluxe Edition”, “Limited Edition Founder’s Pack” and “Ultimate Upgrade Pack” are no longer available for purchase in the in-game shop or the web shop.
The reason is the increasing number of account thefts.
The thieves bought the expensive PvE packs at the expense of the victims using the stolen accounts, as these packs contained “Friend’s Accounts”. These were then resold cheaply.
By pulling the expensive packs out of circulation, Epic wants to curb this pattern. Later, the packages are supposed to return. So this has nothing to do with an imminent release.
Next week a lot will change – weapons will deal building damage
What is coming in the next two patches for Save the World is also pretty clear.
Today’s patch, 3.4, includes an “Egg Launcher”, a grenade launcher that shoots explosive eggs around. The patch was released a few hours ago.
More content is expected by players in patch 3.5 next week. A new event series is supposed to start with fresh heroes and weapons. Also, some quality of life improvements are expected by the players.
Furthermore, Fortnite will become more realistic with 3.5. Until now, weapons in PvE could not damage buildings, but that will change starting next week. Epic simply finds it unrealistic that a building can withstand a rocket bombardment just like that.
Depending on the type of weapon, buildings can also be broken with something other than the pickaxe starting in patch 3.5. However, the buildings will not yield resources. This change is meant to make Fortnite feel more realistic.
