The banana Peely was a popular character in Fortnite. Now, the cute piece of fruit has been replaced by a boastful sausage.
Why was Peely so popular? In Season 8, Fortnite introduced the yellow guy who appears as a banana in Fortnite under the name Peely. A skin that was immediately embraced by thousands of players.
Of course, who could not fall in love with the button eyes that were stuck onto the peel? Peely, or in German Schali, radiates a warmth that few other characters in Fortnite can match. Initially, the skin was not popular among streamers.
Schali’s replacement is a sausage: The new skin is called “The Brat” in Fortnite, fitting with the sausage appearance. For 1,200 V-Bucks, it’s yours. It appears with two buns as a kind of jacket draped over its shoulders.
Somewhat unusual is that Brat also wears a sausage necklace around its neck. Probably has a dark character, that one. Overall, it looks very cool, posing impressively.
It’s quite surprising that the developers at Fortnite would replace such a healthy skin like Schali with a fast-food sausage. Whether that is less healthy is up for debate. After all, at this point, we are not sure what material our colleague “Brat” is made of.
What happened to Schali? In a trailer for Season 9, one saw the dark fate that befell the friendly Schali. His buddy Jonesy just chopped him up and drank him down. Ice cold. The brutal end for a popular skin … … until Halloween 2019 came around.
Because then the story got even darker. Epic invented the new skin “Bone-Schali.” It is now half bone and half banana. So Schali needed a “whole” replacement.
