Fortnite made some hotfix adjustments yesterday, September 5th, at 9:00 PM. Three of the strongest weapons are now in the vault. We will show you which weapons they are.
What are these adjustments? Fortnite tweeted yesterday at 9:00 PM that they made some adjustments to the game. The hotfix adjustments of the Update 10.20. Three weapons were moved to the vault.
These 3 weapons were sent to the vault:
Combat Shotgun: A shotgun that dealt very high damage even at a greater distance. It also stood out due to its ability to shoot and reload quickly.
The Combat Shotgun was already a hot topic right at release in Fortnite.
Drum Shotgun: This shotgun was known for being able to shoot quickly in succession and having a large magazine. While it didn’t deal as much damage as the Combat Shotgun, it could compensate for that with its faster firing rate.
Proximity Grenade Launcher: Similar to the grenade launcher, it fires grenades. However, the difference lies in the name; these are proximity grenades that only explode when an opponent is nearby. Thus, it could be used similarly to a shotgun and fired directly at the opponent.
How are players reacting? The majority of players seem to be happy about the new adjustments. There has been a long-standing discussion in the community about whether the Combat Shotgun was too strong.
On Reddit, players particularly complained about the Combat Shotgun, because it:
- deals the most damage
- has 10 shots
- has the longest range
- has the best fire rate
- is the most accurate weapon
- can reload 2 shells at once

Streamers seem to be happy: Streamers like Tfue and SypherPK seem to be pleased about this. They tweeted:
Tfue: “The Combat Shotgun has been vaulted, LET’S GO!!”
Tfue had also explained back in June that Fortnite needed to remove these 2 weapons for everything to get better.
SypherPK: “Combat and Drum Shotguns to the vault! Oh my God…”
