In Fortnite, players demanded a nerf for a few skins because they were pay-to-win. With the latest update, a fix was also introduced, but now players have discovered an exploit that makes the skins unfair again.
What are these skins? The skins that received a nerf are the superhero skins. These were available in the item shop and can be customized at will. This can create cool combos, but it also brought problems.
Since the superhero skins can be color-customized, there are certain combinations that can lead to an unfair advantage. Specifically meant: A completely black or white skin, as these can blend into certain environments.
To prevent this unfair advantage from being exploited, Epic introduced a nerf with update 15.30. After that, specifically these white and black combos should no longer be achievable. But that doesn’t seem to have worked completely.
Superheroes remain unfair with exploit
What is the problem? Despite the nerf, the superhero skins are causing trouble again. The reason for this is an exploit that allows players to still use the unfair combos.
With a few “tricks,” the skins can be redressed in completely white or black. It seems that this exploit is now being used, and tutorials on YouTube show how to take advantage of the glitch.
Epic bans skins from competitive scene
This is how Epic is reacting to the exploit: Fortnite Status has announced on Twitter that the superhero skins will be temporarily removed from the competitive scene due to significant issues. If players try to log in to a match with the skins, they will appear as default skins in the game.
The removal of the skins is expected to remain in effect until the next update 15.40. Until then, Epic will be working on a solution to ensure that the superheroes can be used correctly again afterwards.
What happens with them in regular battle royale rounds? Epic has only commented on their removal in the competitive scene so far. In the regular battle royale rounds, players can continue to use the exploit. We will likely see if a solution will be implemented to prevent players from gaining unfair advantages.
The update 15.30 not only brought a nerf for the superhero skins. It was also the introduction of the new Mandalorian mode, where you can be hunted by the hunter itself. Additionally, there are now 3 new exotic weapons that you can only obtain from certain NPCs. In our guide, we show you which weapons they are and how to get them.
