Fortnite will soon host a tournament only for PS4 players. Participants can unlock a free skin and cosmetics. We will show you how to join in to secure the cosmetic items.
What kind of tournament is this? The Fortnite Celebration Cup will take place on February 15 and 16, 2020, where eligible Fortnite players on PlayStation 4 can compete against each other.
By participating, you can unlock various items. However, it matters what placement you achieve in the tournament. You can unlock the following items:
- The Tango skin (Top 5% of participating players)
- Pickaxe “Wild Edge” (Top 25% of participating players)
- Spray “Take Cover” (Top 50% of participating players)
How to participate to unlock the cosmetics
When can you unlock the items? You can only unlock the cosmetics on the first day of the tournament. This will be on Saturday, February 15.
What you need to consider before the tournament: The PlayStation tournament is available in all regions. However, to participate in the tournament, you must first meet a few requirements:
- You must play on a PS4, as the tournament is only held on the PlayStation console
- Your Fortnite account must be at least level 15
- You must have two-factor authentication enabled
If you meet all these requirements, you can participate in the PlayStation tournament.
How to unlock the cosmetics
To receive the cosmetics, you need to achieve a certain placement on the first day of the tournament. If you are among the top 5% of participants, you will unlock all 3 items.
How are points counted? There are different amounts of points for certain actions. You can earn points in the following ways:
- Epic Victory: 10 points
- 2nd – 5th place: 7 points
- 6th – 15th place: 5 points
- 16th – 25th place: 3 points
- Each elimination: 1 point
This PlayStation tournament is thus more focused on how long you survive in a match. Adjust your play style and tactics accordingly.
