In Fortnite, professionals Benjyfishy and MrSavage faced off against 5-year-old opponents in a friendly match, which they won. The two professionals were pleased with their defeat.
This was the situation: Benjy “benjyfishy” David Fish and Martin “MrSavage” Foss Andersen hosted a mini-tournament in the Creative mode of Fortnite during a Twitch stream together with the German pro “LeTsHe”. There, 3-player teams faced each other.
After a few rounds, in which the professionals ruthlessly competed against their opponents, a group of small children joined in. But instead of fighting this team as well, the professional trio decided to let them win.
However, it wasn’t supposed to be so obvious; it had to look like the children really had a chance against the professionals. Therefore, they held back and intentionally shot wide.
So, in the end, the children won the match. They were praised by the professionals. Benjyfishy told the 5-year-olds that they had completely defeated them (via Twitch Stream Benjyfishy: 1 hour 24 minutes)
Professionals wanted to give the children a nice experience
How did the children react to the victory? Based on the voices and the clumsy gameplay of their opponents, the professionals quickly realized that they were dealing with small children. To make them happy, they decided to let the 5-year-olds win, even though MrSavage was initially reluctant.
In the end, he was the one who ensured that the children could win. The 5-year-olds seemed to be happy about the victory, as they thanked several times and proudly told their mother that they had defeated Benjyfishy and Mr. Savage.
Why is this gesture so special? Benjyfishy is quite well-known with his 1.3 million followers on Twitch. MrSavage even reaches 1.5 million followers.
After all, both are among the best Fortnite players in the world. They demonstrated this at the Fortnite World Championship in 2019 when they competed as a duo against 49 other duos. Benjyfishy showcased his skills in the match of his life, during which he eliminated several pro colleagues.
So anyone who can claim to have beaten these two professionals can consider themselves lucky. Even though this match against the children was intentionally lost, the 5-year-olds will likely remember it for a long time and brag about having “defeated” two of the best Fortnite players.
Although MrSavage is so successful in the game, he considers Fortnite to be the least professional e-sport ever. He finds Fortnite too easy because you don’t even have to practice much once you’ve mastered the game mechanics.
