In Fortnite: Battle Royale, the “Double Movement” has been removed. Now the pros are angry because they apparently trained for nothing. They demand that Epic quickly reverses this change.
What happened? The Update 14.50, which was implemented on Tuesday, November 3, removed the “Double Movement” feature on PC in Fortnite.
This change caused frustration among Fortnite professionals, as their playstyle is now said to be significantly restricted. On Twitter, they clearly expressed their frustration about it.
Double Movement has been removed from Fortnite
What is this feature? The “double moving” or “Double Movement” is supposed to allow players with mouse and keyboard to move in one direction while looking in another. This also affects a player’s movement, making it easier and faster to run left or right.
It can also help with building since PC players can place building items to the sides while running forward. This can be easily achieved by assigning the movement keys to two different keys.
Fortnite pros are angry about the removal
This is how the pros reacted to this change: Right after it was noticed that this feature was removed from the game, professionals who play with mouse and keyboard reacted loudly. They posted on Twitter what they think about the change.
One of the first to react to the removal of “Double Movement” was young Fortnite pro Benjyfishy, who recently had trouble with the duo world champion from Austria. On Twitter he said he had trained for 3 months for nothing:
Now that the feature has been removed, players have to readjust and find new tactics. The quick, side-building of walls and stairs will no longer work.
FaZe Dubs also reacted to the removal and said that Epic doesn’t even know what they are doing with it. He seems to refer to the consequences for competitive players. He asks Epic to reverse the change.
Additionally, Tfue also reacted to the removal of Double Movement. He had already had issues because he was accused of cheating with it. Actually, it no longer affects the Twitch streamer, as he has stopped playing Fortnite, despite it being what made him so successful.
But he still has some advice for his professional colleagues. He said: “If you want Double Movement, you just have to pick up a controller.” (via Twitter)
Why Epic made this change is still unknown. It could be that this feature facilitated cheating with other software, as Tfue was accused of. Whether that is the reason, they have not confirmed. This is not the only thing currently concerning Fortnite players, as a new pickaxe is said to be Pay2Win.
