The wonder duo Benjyfishy and Mongraal failed at a Fortnite tournament, even though things looked good for them. However, the failure was not due to their skills.
This was the situation: The duo Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson and Benjy “Benjyfishy” Fish participated in the Fortnite Champion Series. However, they could not qualify for the grand finale.
Crash ruins everything
What happened? In one of the preliminary rounds of the final, Benjyfishy had already been eliminated. His duo partner Mongraal then tried to survive as long as possible and get as many kills as he could.
Placement is important because they can collect many points that they needed to qualify. But suddenly, his game crashed.
It had looked so good for the two of them. Mongraal was well equipped and he could have revived his teammate at the next spot with the Reboot Bus.
This would have given them a second chance at plenty of points. But unfortunately, that did not happen.
Clearly, it was not the players’ fault. The game simply crashed without any apparent reason. The crash ruined the entire final for them.
Wonder duo had so much potential
Why was this defeat so surprising? Benjyfishy and Mongraal are among the strongest players in Europe.
Benjyfishy has proven that he can compete against the best professionals and defeat them. In one match, he faced his professional colleagues, was able to defeat them all, and even won with 23 eliminations.
Both qualified for the Fortnite World Championship 2019 in the Solo/Duo. Benjyfishy even qualified 4 times for the Solo tournament. In the Fortnite World Championship in Duo, they finished 6th.
If Mongraal’s game had not crashed, they might have achieved a higher placement or even qualified for the grand finale of the tournament. After all, they finished in 15th place in the preliminary round (via Epic Games) and that was even with the crash. Who knows, maybe they could have even won?
