The Fortnite pro Kalvin “Kez” Dam was banned live during a tournament. His team was left in the dark. After the cheating allegations, the pro vanished from Twitter. We show you what happened.
What happened? The pro was playing with his teammates in a Frosty Frenzy tournament hosted by Epic. However, in one round, he suddenly disappeared from the game, leaving his puzzled colleagues behind without saying what had happened.
It didn’t take long for them to realize that he had been banned from Fortnite. However, it was unclear why he was thrown out of the round live. AussieAntics, a commentator for Fortnite tournaments, noticed the situation and posted a clip about it on Twitter:
“Why did he just leave?”
Here’s how the team members reacted to the ban: As mentioned, Kez’s teammates were initially stunned because he abruptly left the game and said nothing. But when it became known that he apparently cheated, they became angry.
CizLucky did not understand why Kez just left without saying anything. If he had been wrongfully accused of cheating, he would have been angry and would have defended himself. Kez simply said nothing and then just left. “It would have been over,” CizLucky says (via Twitter).
Nanolite remained relatively calm during the whole situation and seems still shocked by the event. This might also be because he had previously joked that Kez was cheating because he has such good aim. He posted a Twitter clip when he said that and wrote: “I was just joking.”

What are the allegations against the pro? The fact that Kez said nothing after the ban and disappeared from Twitter shortly after the allegations (via Twitter) was seen by some as confirmation that he had actually cheated.
But how exactly is he accused of cheating? Teammate CizLucky had received some information and a screenshot from another player indicating that Kez had bought and used “soft aimbot cheats.” The player predicted that Kez would be banned during the tournament, but CizLucky didn’t believe a word of it:

The player SEBBY is now rumored to have confirmation that Kez has actually cheated. But how long has he been using the cheat? After all, he had won the Fortnite Championships 2020 with his team, and that would not have been fair if he had cheated back then.
However, according to SEBBY, he did not cheat during the FNCS or the World Championship, but only started when the FNCS 2020 was over, as he stated on Twitter:
It is unclear whether Kez has now been permanently banned from Fortnite. The pro has deleted his Twitter account since the incident, and there has been no statement released by him. It remains to be seen whether he will say anything about it or if he has decided to stay away from tournaments.
The Austrian world champion was also warned at a tournament and subsequently banned. His attempts to defend himself after the warning ultimately led to the ban.
