A Fortnite pro cheated his way through a tournament qualifier to the finals. However, he did not do this secretly, but rather quite openly. He wanted to prove how poorly Fortnite’s anti-cheat system works.
This is what happened: The Fortnite pro Kona cheated in the qualifying rounds of the FNCS tournament. He had installed an aimbot on his PC and used it in his matches.
He was successful in doing so, as he made it to the final rounds of the qualification process. However, his goal was not to qualify for the tournament, but to prove how poorly Fortnite’s anti-cheat system really works.
Pro cheats and shows it openly
This was the plan: To execute his plan, he showcased his cheats as openly as possible. He streamed the entire thing on Twitch, and viewers could even see him activate the aimbot on his PC.
Unlike a young Fortnite pro who used aimbot in a tournament and came up with a creative excuse for it.
Although he did not hide his cheats at all and even laid them bare, he was able to continue playing normally and even made it to the final rounds.
In the game, he was obviously quite strong with the activated aimbot, and even the pro could not hide that.
He shared a clip on Twitter, in which one can clearly see how strong such an aimbot is and that his opponent has absolutely no chance:
“The anti-cheat system is just terrible”
This is how the pro reacted to the result: Kona seems to have achieved his goal, as he was able to cheat his way to the finals of the qualification without any problems. However, the pro is not at all pleased with the result.
No, now seriously. The anti-cheat system in this game is so terrible that even such individuals can make it to the finals. I hope they learn from this.
Kona on Twitter
These were the consequences of his experiment: The pro Kona did not get away with it that easily after all. Due to cheating, he was indeed disqualified from the tournament by Epic.
Kona also had to sacrifice his Fortnite account, as it has now been banned, and it is still unclear how long the ban will last. After all, another Fortnite pro was banned for 28 days, even though he didn’t cheat intentionally.
The eSports team that Kona was part of decided to kick the pro out of the clan. They do not want to support cheating under any circumstances and therefore cut all contact with the pro (via Twitter).
It is still unknown how things will proceed with pro Kona and his Fortnite ban. Epic has already taken a tough stance when it comes to cheaters.
FaZe Jarvis had received a lifetime ban from Fortnite because he had used an aimbot in the game. This ban was quite controversial.
