In Fortnite: Battle Royale, the young streamer and professional gamer Bogdan Akh was active and successful. Therefore, he was also at the finale of the big Fall Skirmish tournament in San Jose. There, the Swede passed away at the age of just 21.
What happened? Bogdan was a Swedish gamer and Fortnite professional. Together with his duo partner Dominik “RazZzero0o” Bergmann, he was at the TwitchCon in San Jose, USA. There, the finale of the second big official Fortnite tournament Fall Skirmish took place.
Bogdan and RazZzero0o trained hard for over 2 months for the tournament and placed 18th overall. This earned them $10,000, which easily covered the costs of the trip and provided the two guys with a nice cushion for a planned sightseeing trip through California.
The two players had prepared intensively for the tournament for 2 months and played Fortnite together every day.
Tragic Death After Tournament
Player dies unexpectedly: On the morning of October 29, 2018, RazZzero0o woke up and wanted to push Bogdan’s arm away, which was lying in his half of the bed. According to his own statement, he then realized that something was not right.
Bogdan was dead.
The night before, RazZzero0o went to bed shortly before Bogdan.
Out of respect for the deceased’s family, RazZzero0o kept the incident secret at first. He did not want the relatives to learn about their family member’s death via social media.
Cause of death unclear: What led to the death of the just 21-year-old player was not disclosed. In a statement, RazZzero0o mentioned that the preparation and the event were very intense and that both had trained hard.
After all, they were under pressure to succeed, as otherwise they would have struggled with the costs of the trip.
Petition for Bogdan Memorial Emote: Bogdan was popular among his fans. He was considered a friendly and funny guy. Therefore, shortly after his death, a petition was submitted to Epic. The developers are to include the phrase “Back To Lobby” as an emote in the game.
This phrase was Bogdan’s catchphrase whenever he eliminated someone in the game.
