Between September 2017 and March 2018, search queries for Fortnite on Pornhub increased more than eightfold. An increase of 834% is remarkable.
Time and again, the site “Pornhub” reveals, presumably for PR reasons rather than scientific ones, how the search behavior of its users has changed. It is interesting to note that pop culture and gaming have a direct impact on the preferences of users there.

Fortnite has now also had an impact on search behavior.

As Pornhub announces, search queries for Fortnite exploded from September 2017 to March 2018.
In July 2017, only a handful of people had searched for Fortnite on the site. When the game gained popularity in September with the battle royale mode, the search queries increased continuously.
Search queries peaked on March 15. There, rapper Drake streamed the game Fortnite together with the player “Ninja”. They broke a Twitch record with 600,000 viewers.
Most of the time, Fortnite is searched in connection with terms like “hentai”, “sex” or “butt”.
It is also interesting in what context “Fortnite” appears, as users on Pornhub often search for “Overwatch”, “Team Fortress 2” or “Minecraft” before or after typing in “Fortnite”. Apparently, there are fans of video game sex.
The transition to mobile also has an impact here. Since Fortnite has already been released on iOS but not yet on Android, iPhone users search for Fortnite porn 77% more frequently than people with an Android device.
