In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Switch & Xbox One) there is more news from the rocket. Meanwhile, not only a new countdown has appeared. There are also warning sirens that keep sounding on the map. The launch of the rocket is expected to take place on Saturday.
News from the rocket: As the comet in Season 3 inspires interest in Season 4, the rocket has caught the attention of Fortnite players. A rocket has been standing at the villains’ base in Snobby Shores for weeks, which has become increasingly active recently. At first, the thing was loaded with Hop Rocks from the comet crater. Then suddenly logos in the form of the rocket base (a skull) and countdowns appeared on screens in the Fortnite world.
Meanwhile, things have escalated: A warning siren keeps sounding during matches and seems to be coming from the base. What could it mean?
Rocket Alarm!
Is the launch imminent? If you play Fortnite often, you might eventually notice a mysterious warning siren. Depending on how close you are to the rocket base, the sound will be louder or quieter.
But it is definitely there, and both I, Jürgen, and various YouTubers have heard it. Here you can find the evidence videos.
Final Countdown? Is a new map coming?
The last countdown has started: The warning sirens fit well with the current situation. Various rocket sound files have been found in the code. Additionally, another countdown to the rocket has appeared. A timer has been counting down on screens and at the base itself since Wednesday. If you project it into the future, it will end on June 30, 2018, at 7:30 PM.
The Leviathan Theory
What happens when the countdown ends? There are various speculations about the end of the countdown:
- Some believe you can launch the rocket as a player and devastate the target area
- Others suspect that the rocket was hijacked by the visitor to bring in more aliens.
- A recently released theory from the Buddies (data miners) suggests that a monster (the Leviathan) will emerge from Moisty Mire and then rampage over the map. You would have to take it down with the rocket after weakening it first. This would at least fit the leak from the beginning of Season 4. Accordingly, Moisty Mire is said to be destroyed at the end of Season 4.
What happens with the rest of Season 4? On the other hand, the rocket might not change much if it launches on June 30. Because Season 4 is said to last until July 12 according to Epic! And that Epic will fundamentally change the map before the new season starts is considered rather unlikely.
What is your theory about the rocket? Will it shake up the map significantly or create something entirely new?
