On the map of Fortnite , excavation sites have been appearing for weeks. Players believe that in a loading screen, they see what is beneath one of the excavation sites at Loot Lake. And it shines!
What’s new? Players see a hint in the loading screen of week 7 in season 8. They believe this will uncover a big secret.
Near Loot Lake, there are locked metal doors in the ground. These were found when an excavation site was cleared of stones.
It is now suspected that behind these doors lies a pit full of gold. Or a bunker.
What does the loading screen look like? In the loading screen, you can see the female character Luxe from season 8. She is being lowered by a rope.
On the ground, everything is covered in gold: coins, a jug, and a chest can be seen there.

This loading screen is not a secret this time, as it was revealed today in the patch notes for the new update 8.30.
Is there a treasure lurking under Loot Lake?
This is what the players believe: For some, it seems that the hole in the ceiling is the mystery behind the locked doors near Loot Lake. There is currently an excavation site there.
On Reddit , user sxyton writes, “The week 7 loading screen possibly reveals what is behind the metal doors at Loot Lake.” He receives support for this assumption.
What do the players say about it?
- “Maybe that’s why it’s called ‘Loot Lake,'” speculates a player, referring to the hidden loot there.
- “I believe Luxe actually pays people to open these excavation sites and get gold.”
What else could be hidden behind the doors? Other players suspect that there is a bunker behind the doors. It is believed that the volcano will erupt soon, and one might hide in the bunker from the hot lava.
A player on Reddit noticed that an echo occurs when you shoot or hit the metal doors. This would indicate a large cavity beneath the ground. For players, more hints that there is an underground bunker.
What do you think is hidden behind the doors? You already know such a bunker from Fortnite:
