In Fortnite , Epic has permanently banned professional player FaZe Jarvis. He has nearly 2 million subscribers on YouTube. With the ban, the player’s career is effectively over. He had experimented with an aimbot – here, Epic clearly shows no tolerance.
Who is he? The Brit Jarvis “Jarvis” Kaye is a 17-year-old professional.
He joined the FaZe Clan on April 23, 2019. The FaZe Clan is considered the most influential eSports organization in Fortnite, and Tfue, the biggest streamer on Twitch at the moment, also played for the clan.
Jarvis has a YouTube channel with 1.97 million subscribers. He usually showcases gameplay from Fortnite.
But the newest video is titled “I got banned in Fortnite (I’m sorry).”
Player uses aimbot “to entertain viewers”
What did the player do? In the video, the 17-year-old explains that he is banned from Fortnite for life. He posted several videos in which he used an aimbot in solo matches of Fortnite and in Playground mode. He was using a secondary account at the time.
Jarvis says he only wanted to make the videos to entertain. It never crossed his mind that he could be banned for it – but that is now the case.
The young professional says he cannot emphasize enough how much Fortnite has changed his life. He has no idea what he would do without Fortnite. It was the best time of his life.
In the video, he is close to tears as he seems to realize that his time as a Fortnite player is over. The video becomes increasingly emotional – he emphasizes how important the game is to him and how much he regrets his mistake.
Later, he writes in a tweet that he takes full responsibility for his actions. Had he known what awaited him, he would have never done such a thing.
This is how it’s being discussed: There are two major opinions:
On one hand, people say: Of course, he will be banned. Anyone who uses an aimbot in a live environment against other players must expect such a punishment.
Everyone knows that you get banned for using an aimbot.
But there are also others who wish for more mercy. After all, it would have only been on the alt account and not “competitive.”
Epic caught the player “XXiFC” in April 2019 trying to cheat in a competitive game through collusion, but he was only banned for two weeks and was then able to participate in the World Cup. He is now being cited as an example that the punishment for FaZe Jarvis is too harsh.
Apparently, FaZe Jarvis is still coming to terms with what this ban means for his life.
As a YouTuber with nearly 1.97 million subscribers and a professional player under contract with a major clan, he was already in a good position at the age of 17. He has now drastically jeopardized that with this mistake.
Update 5.11.: The discussion about FaZe Jarvis is occupying the Fortnite community. The streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has now commented on the situation:
