This is what the new patch does: On January 7, a patch went live in Fortnite that removes the lightsabers from the game again. These had landed in the game after an elaborate Star Wars live event and made their presence felt.
The weapons were extremely powerful as they dealt a lot of damage and gave players the ability to block shots. To combat the lightsabers, you had to devise a good tactic. This is now over: Star Wars is disappearing from Fortnite for the time being.
Furthermore, the “Winter Season” in Fortnite is also coming to an end. Ice and snow are retreating, and the gifts in the lodge are also coming to an end. Much of what has characterized Fortnite in recent weeks is now gone again. And accidentally, even a bit more has slipped away.
New bug breaks Star Wars achievements
This is what happened: On reddit, some players reported after the patch that their achievements from the Star Wars event had disappeared along with the remaining Star Wars contents from the game. Cosmetics and skins remain in the inventory and can be used, but the overview of completed challenges has disappeared.
Since it is not a catastrophic error, the bug is being taken with humor: “They just deleted the Star Wars folder by right-clicking,” jokes reddit user Biobak.
A solution is already in the works: The FortniteStatus Twitter account has already announced that they are looking for a fix.
Are the lightsabers gone forever? The lightsabers were viewed with mixed feelings in the community. While some loved them, for others they were an object that should disappear from the game as quickly as possible.
They have now been removed from the normal game. However, it is conceivable that they will soon be usable in creative mode – and players will be allowed to continue in the Fortnite Star Wars world there.
