What is happening today in Fortnite? In Fortnite, Epic Games has taken the servers down for update 27.00. All players are eagerly waiting for the new content and can hardly wait to play a round in Season 5. However, to keep you informed about the new content Epic Games is planning, we have listed the official patch notes for you.

When can I play Fortnite again?
When and how long will the downtime last? This is not yet known. Many players are wondering when the servers will be active again since the downtime. However, we expect a time between 12:00 – 14:00.
New map and weapons from Chapter 1
Depending on the update and hotfix that comes with Chapter 4 Season 5, additional locations and items will be added to the map. For the release, you can expect the following items:
- Hunting Rifle
- Assault Rifle
- Pump Shotgun
- Damage Trap
- Grappler
- Boogie Bomb
- All-Terrain Cart
- Shopping Cart
Epic Games themselves report that some items will remain until the end of Season 5, while others will be removed in upcoming updates and hotfixes to make room for new OG items and weapons. So if you don’t want to miss anything, you need to stay active and play almost every day.
Hotfix brings items from Season 6
With the upcoming hotfix in Chapter 4 Season 5, players will experience changes to the map and the loot pool. New vehicles, weapons, and items are expected to be added. Here’s what you can expect:
- Double-Barreled Shotgun
- Sticky Grenade
- Sidearm
- Freezer Trap
- Turret
- Portable Building
- Quad Crasher
- Driftboard
Update on November 16 brings additional items
With update 27.10, additional items and locations will be added in Chapter 4 Season 5. The update is scheduled to be released on November 16 and will bring the following items:
- Stone Fist Pistol
- Minigun
- Quad Launcher
- Poison Dart Trap
- Redeployable Glider
- Buried Treasure
- X-4 Stormwing
- Pirate Cannon
Hotfix 27.11 brings the last items on November 23
The probably last update for Season 5 will be released on November 23 and will bring a final wave of items and weapons that you can use on the new map. The following have been introduced:
- Heavy Sniper Rifle
- Proximity Grenade Launcher
- Airstrike
- Junk Rift
- Storm Twister
- Jetpack
- Ball Launcher
OG Battle Pass and Shop
Fortnite brings a new, albeit shorter, Battle Pass with Season 5. You now get 4 skins, items, and 1000 V-Bucks from the OG Battle Pass for 950 V-Bucks. Additionally, Epic is offering a new OG Shop where old items from the past, which are extremely rare, will be made available for purchase. What the items are, except for one skin, is not yet known.
Ranked will be adjusted
With the OG season, the ranked mode will be adjusted. Players at mid to high levels should be able to rank up faster due to the shortness of Season 5. Additionally, matches can start with 80 players when no further players can be found in matchmaking. This is to ensure that matches for higher-ranked players become fairer.
If you also complete one of the tangible quests in a ranked match, you will also receive the exclusive back accessory rank tags.
Rewards in Cups
Chapter 4 Season 5 will offer exclusive cups where you can earn two temporary items for your locker.
The items include:
- Sky Blade of the Competitor
- Timing Glider of the Competitor
A free reward for everyone
If you log in at least once in Chapter 4 Season 5, you will receive a free lobby music “The RE-OG” from Metro Boomin. When you log in, you will find the item in your locker.
