What is happening today in Fortnite? In Fortnite, Epic Games has taken down the servers for update 24.00. All players are eagerly waiting for the new content and can hardly wait to play a round in Season 2 Mega. To keep you informed about the new content Epic Games is planning, we have listed the official patch notes for you.

When can I play Fortnite again?
When and how long will the downtime last? This is not yet known. Many players are wondering since the downtime when the servers will be active again. Leakers assume a downtime of up to 5 hours.
New vehicles
Epic Games gives you new vehicles at the start of Season 2, including:
- The Rogue motorcycle
- The Nitro Drifter
Both vehicles are new and come with a lot of speed, good maneuverability, and a pinch of nitro. They are fast and perfect for chases.
Note: The off-road motorcycle, the motorboat, the vehicle modification “Chonkers Off-Road Tires,” and the vehicle modification “Cowcatcher” are coming to Battle Royale V.24.00 in the vault.
New weapons
Kinetic Blade
This katana is deadly and fast. You can shove opponents away with the “Knockback Strike” and perform a “Sprint Attack” that deals heavy damage. However, this attack only has three charges that need to be recharged after consumption.
Suppressed Havoc Assault Rifle
This is a lightweight, precise, silent, and above all deadly assault rifle. A mythic variant exists only after you defeat the boss “Highcard.”
Havoc Shotgun
This is a powerful shotgun. A mythic version exists in vaults, for which you need key cards.
Overclocked Pulse Rifle
The pulse rifle looks similar to the one from the Alien Season of Chapter 2. You will find the weapon at rifts.
Weapons from the vault return
However, old weapons will also be brought back into the loot table. You can expect the following weapons:
- Heavy Sniper Rifle
- Cobra DMR
- Dragon’s Breath Sniper Rifle
- Combat Shotgun
- All acquired exotic weapons
The following weapons remain from Season 1 into Season 2:
- Automatic Expert Shotgun
- Red Dot Assault Rifle
- Double Magazine Submachine Gun
- Tactical Pistol
- Sauce Cannon
Old item becomes powerful
The Slurp Juice has been made more powerful and now produces a lot of points for your health and shields simultaneously when consumed. More points than before Season 2. You can find the Slurp Juice in vaults locked with key cards, at locations with rifts, or battle supplies.
New reality augmentations in Season 2
Season 2 not only brings new weapons and skins but also new reality augmentations. You can look forward to the following:
- Containerizing
- When you leave a hideout, loot spawns nearby. Can occur once per hideout.
- Treasure Hunter
- Chests nearby are marked when you enter a location for the first time.
- Boost Juice Flood
- You find Boost Juice in every treasure chest you open. And if there is already Boost Juice in the chest, you get another one.
- Ammunition Slide
- Receive medium ammunition while sliding.
- More Medium Ammunition
- Weapons that consume medium ammunition receive an increased magazine size.
- Shotgun Recycling
- Weapons that use shotgun ammunition have a chance not to consume ammunition.
- Honorary Finish
- Eliminations reset the cooldown for the Sprint Attack of the Kinetic Blade.
Also, old reality augmentations from Season 1 will be carried over into Season 2. You can expect the following:
- Light Fingers
- Sharpshooter
- Aerialist
- Sauce Shooter
- Jellyfish Angler
- Bloodhound
- Shadow Assassin
- More Parkour
- Key Master
“Mega” offers new slides
In Fortnite, new grind rails exist in Mega City where you can slide. This allows you to explore the environment quickly and easily and move around. You can also use your weapons on the grind rails if you are skilled enough.
COMPETITION NOTES
Epic removes the following content from competitive modes:
- Heavy Sniper Rifle
- Acquired exotic items
- Sauce Cannon
- Reality augmentation “Sharpshooter”
- Reality augmentation “Sauce Shooter”
Additionally, both new vehicles will not be available for use in competitions. Depending on performance in the normal modes, they may be activated.
CHANGES IN SUPPORT FOR LEGACY OPERATING SYSTEMS
For Chapter 4 Season 2, players are required to upgrade their Windows operating system to 10 or higher; otherwise, they will not be able to play Fortnite anymore. Windows 7 or 8 are no longer supported.
