Important times for the server downtime today in Fortnite – When and how long is it offline?
This is the downtime in the morning: The servers are expected to shut down at 10:00 AM our time to install update 20.30. Matchmaking will already be disabled 30 minutes beforehand, meaning you won’t be able to search for new rounds from 09:30 AM.
When can you play again? The servers are usually offline for several hours during such maintenance, and playing will not be possible. The downtime is expected to last between 30 minutes and 2 hours. This has been shown by the updates in recent weeks.
During such maintenance, there may also always be technical problems, bugs, and delays. If such complications occur, we will immediately report them here.
When will the patch notes be released? Epic Games has not released many patch notes for a long time. However, community members usually find the changes quickly. If there are important changes, we will also update this article for you.
What new content does update 20.30 bring?
What’s new for the Battle Royale mode? There are no concrete statements from Epic Games about the contents of patch 20.30 yet. However, leaks and data miners have often proven to be reliable sources in the past. The following changes are confirmed:
The fight for Tilted Towers has begun
The offensive against IO continues. This time you need to take over Tilted Towers. However, as you will notice, Tilted is badly damaged and has several craters. You can mourn later, because the Seven are counting on your help.
The Star Wars Day begins soon
The Star Wars Day begins on May 4th. Accordingly, Epic has brought back the lightsabers along with the E-11 blasters to the map. You can swing your cool swords from May 3rd to May 17th and earn XP and a banner. You can find the quests as always in your tasks tab in the Fortnite menu.
Choppas are coming back – Donations are necessary!
Epic has set up donation boards at all Seven outposts. Here you can donate gold to permanently unlock a Choppa. However, everyone needs to pitch in because one donor is not enough to raise the gold for this vehicle.
Shotguns receive balance adjustments
All shotguns in Fortnite have received some adjustments that will affect you as follows:
- The minimum number of shotgun pellet hits has been increased from 3 to 4 for the Striker Pump Gun, Automatic Shotgun, and Drum Shotgun.
- The damage with shotgun pellets and the headshot damage of the Striker Pump Gun and Automatic Shotgun has been increased.
- The headshot damage of the Ranger Shotgun and Drum Shotgun has been significantly increased, but the base damage from shotgun pellets remains the same.
- The damage at increasing distance for the Drum Shotgun has been adjusted, so the effective range is reduced.
Better filtering system for your mode selection
Epic has now implemented better options for you to select your desired modes more accurately. You can now choose various criteria to tailor the selection to your tastes.
Short notes for the competitive mode
- The troops at Tilted Towers are not in direct conflict with competitive game modes, but the destruction that has occurred still took place, and Huntmaster Saber is now in a new location in these game modes.
- Lightsabers and E-11 blasters are not available in competitive game modes.
- Choppas do not appear in competitive game modes.
