In Fortnite, the servers will go down today, November 16, on all platforms (PC/Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Android). The downtime will be used to roll out the new Update 18.40. All changes will be reported here on MeinMMO in a timely manner.
What will happen today in Fortnite? Epic Games will take the servers down. The invasion of the Killer Cubes is still in full swing, and the Queen could finally join the battle. She has been hovering over the structure of the purple cubes for quite some time.
To ensure you don’t miss out, we at MeinMMO will update this article for you. This way, you will always be up to date.
Fortnite servers go into downtime – when and for how long?
Downtime in the morning: The servers will be taken down at 10 AM our time to roll out Update 18.40. Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes beforehand, so you won’t be able to play from 09:30 AM.
When can you play again? The servers will be offline for some time, and playing will not be possible. The downtime is expected to last between 30 minutes and 2 hours. This is supported by the updates of recent weeks.
Of course, such work can always cause technical issues and delays. If there are any complications, we will report on them.
When will the patch notes come? As usual, Epic Games is likely not to publish patch notes regarding the update. Therefore, the community is forced to go on a treasure hunt to identify changes.
However, if there are significant changes, we will also update this article for you.
What new content does Update 18.40 bring?
What’s new for the Battle Royale mode? We cannot be sure about the changes yet, but leaks and dataminers have often proven to be reliable sources in the past. The following changes might occur:
Chapter 3 has been confirmed
There has been much discussion about the start of Chapter 3. When, how, and which map will appear. Hypex has now announced and confirmed the release of Chapter 3. Everything you need to know about the live event and the new map can be found here:
Naruto crossover with skins and weapons comes to Fortnite
Shiina, a well-known leaker in the Fortnite scene, reveals that the Naruto crossover will be available immediately after the server downtime.
New skins, items, and styles
Meanwhile, Hypex posted the new skins that are currently known. More skins may still be added.
At first glance, you will be overwhelmed by Naruto items. Otherwise, there is another skin pack with familiar skins that have been altered and a new “Save the World” package.
AFK Detection System
Leakers have already discovered in advance that Epic is working on redesigning the creative mode for XP farming.
So you will no longer be able to XP farm there, but you will have to actively play community-created maps to earn your XP.
The pyramid of the Cube Queen is being built
The Cube Queen has been hovering over the alien life form’s structure for weeks. These purple cubes are now forming into a pyramid.
Perhaps a live event is slowly approaching, in which a battle awaits you.
New locker UI
Epic has given the locker a new look; now you can select categories to better refine your search.
