What is happening today in Fortnite? Epic Games hosted a big concert featuring Snoop Dogg, Ice Spice, Eminem, and Juice WRLD, where all artists performed. Since this morning, December 1st, 2024, the servers have been under maintenance, and fans are eagerly waiting to dive into Fortnite. To know what has changed, we show you the official patch notes.

The map of Chapter 6

In the patch notes, Epic Games revealed its new map. It lists all the new POIs. Additionally, you can now take a closer look at the individual biomes that Epic Games has implemented. You can visit the following places upon landing:

Strong demons as bosses

Fortnite-Shogun-X — The Shogun challenges you!

There are also supposed to be bosses in Chapter 6 that you can hunt and loot. Currently, there are two specimens that reward you with loot upon their demise. Their medallions, in particular, are powerful and very useful in combat:

Nightrose
- Reward: Nightrose medallion, which reloads your weapons
Shogun X
- Reward: Wanderer medallion, which makes you invisible while sprinting and grants you infinite stamina

All new weapons

With Chapter 6, Fortnite also brings new weapons that can be bought as better versions from traders, should you complete weapon contracts. The following are known:

Holo-Tornado Assault Rifle
Wrath Assault Rifle
Stealth Precision Submachine Gun
Fire Flood Submachine Gun
Guardian Pump Shotgun
Automatic Double-Barrel Shotgun
Oni Shotgun

IMPORTANT: All weapons in Fortnite are now hitscan. You no longer need to calculate the drop of your bullets when shooting. Your bullets now travel where you aim.

Additionally, there is also a new katana, the Taifun Blade. It is infused with magic and allows you to perform precise melee thrusts while using little stamina.

New items: Oni Masks

There will also be no shortage of items. Oni masks will give you a decisive advantage in combat. In the new map, you can defeat lesser demons to obtain these masks from them.

Each mask has its own effects. So far, only two are known:

Fire Oni Mask
- Effect: Throw homing fireballs at your opponents that cause immense damage
Void Oni Mask
- Effect: Allows you to teleport

New companions: The Nature Spirits

In Chapter 6, there will also be nature spirits that can help you in battle or grant you bonuses. Epic Games has introduced three specimens:

Air Spirits can be thrown to create a whirlwind, allowing you to launch yourself into the air. You can redeploy your glider when you are thrown high up. The whirlwind can also damage buildings and launch vehicles into the air.
Water Spirits can be thrown to create a healing fountain that restores health and shields to all nearby players.
Earth Spirits consume the items you feed them and provide you with a reward in return.

Additionally, you can take spirits with you and revive forgotten shrines to receive blessings. The following are known:

Fire Blessing – Reload weapons faster.
Void Blessing – Eliminate players to see other players nearby.
Wind Blessing – Move faster while equipped with the pickaxe.
Water Blessing – While swimming, you and nearby teammates receive health and shields.

These blessings remain even after your demise.

New vehicle: Rogue Motorcycle and Void-Burn

There is also supposed to be a new motorcycle that you can ride through the streets of the new map. The Rogue Motorcycle has been designed to allow you to perform perfect wheelies. If you prefer cars, then the two-door “Void-Burn” might be just right for you.

The parkour has been expanded

While fans could initially only jump over low objects, they can now perform new stunts to chase their targets or escape from enemies. The following movement options are now available:

Dive Leap:
- Allows you to perform a dive leap with the right speed and near an edge or cliff.
Roll Landing:
- If you hold down the jump button or press it just before hitting the ground after a fall, you will roll and recover a bit of stamina at the same time.
Wall Kick:
- If you jump against a vertical surface next to you while in the air, you will perform a wall kick. With wall kicks, you jump away from the wall in the direction of your choice.
Wall Run:
- If you jump against a vertical surface in front of you, you will perform a wall run action. Reach the extremely high ledge by taking a few steps up the wall.

New mechanic: Easy Editing

With easy editing, players can now edit the building piece they are currently targeting without having to pull out their blueprint. This allows you to adjust your structures even faster in combat. This is meant to help newcomers become comfortable with building.

The new Battle Pass of Chapter 6 Season 1

With the release of Chapter 6, a new Battle Pass will also be available for you. The following skins will be available:

Daigo
Shadow Blade-Hope
Baymax the Hero
The Nightrose

Furthermore, the outfit “Advanced Godzilla” is expected to be unlockable by completing Battle Pass tasks in January. The Battle Pass and Season 1 will then end on February 21 at 08:00 AM German time.
