Finally, Patch 4.5 is here: Unusually late, but exactly at the time we suspected, Patch 4.5 for Fortnite has been released. The highlight of the patch is clearly the new Creative Mode, where you can let loose. You can find information about it and the patch notes here.
Double pistols as new weapons
Fans have been asking for this weapon for a long time, and now it’s here. If you prefer shooting with two guns instead of one, the double pistols offer a great option. This should make getting pistol kills much easier. They deal between 41 and 43 damage.
A rare fun: The double pistols are not just two separate guns that you collect one after the other. The pistol combo is its own item that appears in epic and legendary rarity.
Creative Mode
Test your skills: In this limited-time mode, you can let loose freely. You can test building tactics and weapon combos there. If you die: No big deal, there are respawns (unless you die in the storm). You have a total of one hour to have fun. After 55 minutes, the storm will start.
Massive loot: To ensure you have enough building materials, you gather 10 times faster and 100 loot llamas are waiting to be taken down. Additionally, all chests and ammo crates have a 100 percent spawn chance.
Problems with the Creative: Unfortunately, the Creative is offline again. There were issues with matchmaking. Epic is already on it. We’ll let you know when the Creative is back online.
Final Fight with 12-man Teams
The well-known game mode “Final Fight” is now available with 12-man teams. Everything works as usual, but the last storm circle starts a countdown. The team that has the most members left at the end wins.
Shotgun mini-nerf, SMGs getting a significant buff
Shotguns are getting weaker: If you enjoyed blasting buildings away with shotguns, you might have to forget that soon. Because the damage of pump shotguns against buildings has been reduced by 50 percent. The other two shotguns have lost 25 percent damage against structures.
Additionally, shotgun ammunition will only drop in packs of 4, not 5 anymore.
SMGs now really powerful: Epic seems to want to establish submachine guns as close combat competitors to shotguns. Because especially the unpopular tactical SMG received big bonuses:
- It is 25 percent more accurate by nature
- While running, the accuracy penalty is now only 15 percent
- It deals 2 more damage
However, it loses the property of guaranteeing a hit on the first shot and suffers a 10 percent accuracy loss while aiming.
What about the silenced SMG? The silenced SMG also receives bonuses and will be 10 percent more accurate and deal 2 more damage. Additionally, it will be another 20 percent more accurate while aiming!
Save the World also gets updates
There are also innovations for Fortnite’s PvE mode:
- Part 4 of the Blockbuster story is available
- You can remove items from your collections – for 20 V per item
- You can now specifically buy heroes, weapon, and trap schematics from the collections
- You get new heroes with patriotic outfits to celebrate Independence Day in America
- There is a new enemy type, the Super Shield. It has a larger shield than the usual version.
- The “Builder Pro” system from the PvP mode is now also available in PvE
- You can now carry more ammunition
