Fortnite receives a new patch today on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and iOS. Update 4.2 revolves around weapons. We at Mein-MMO bring you the patch notes in English.
Salvo assault rifles, quad rocket launchers, and the advantage convoluter. Additionally, apples. The new patch for Fortnite brings again several new items and weapons. These are the highlights of the update this time. Furthermore, there are some balance changes.
The Highlights of Patch Notes 4.2 for Fortnite Battle Royale
- The highlight in Fortnite: Battle Royale is the Salvo Assault Rifles, the FAMAS, as new weapons. They come in epic (purple) and legendary (orange), deal 32/33 damage and function like assault rifles.
- Apples are now new, they sometimes lie under trees and restore 5 health. For a little snack in between.
- Suppressed submachine guns are getting stronger, they now deal more damage, are faster at becoming accurate again, and work at longer distances.
- Traps will be weaker – instead of 125 damage, only 75, but they reset after 5 seconds (previously 6).
- Remote explosives now deal damage to all buildings within range, even if the building is not in sight of the remote explosive.
- If you have space in your inventory, you will automatically pick up all items – this can be turned off in the settings.
The Highlights of Patch Notes 4.2 for Fortnite: Save the World
- For PvE, “Save the World” comes the advantage convoluter – we have already reported on this feature. Players can now specifically choose what traits their traps and weapons have and also enhance them. This is no longer random.
- You can also now improve weapon and trap rarity – just like with the heroes.
- Storm Shield defenses should be more worthwhile with the patch. Upon completion you receive mini Llamas. They depend on performance in the mission. There are 1-4 in Stonewood, 2-5 in Plankerton, 3-6 in Bru-Tal, and 4-7 in Twine Peaks. This is intended to motivate players to assist others in defending their bases.
- The critical hit scoring will be adjusted – it is now calculated differently so that players cannot inflate it to huge heights.
- The Quad Launcher comes as a new weapon in the event shop – it is loaded with 4 fire rockets that leave behind burning areas.
- The mission type “Repair the Shelter” will be adjusted to reduce the length of battles.
- There is a whole range of new perks for weapons and traps and even a new damage type “Physical” that is non-elemental damage but increased.

This is definitely primarily a PvE patch this time, which should significantly advance “Save the World”. Epic has introduced several changes recently.
