Opening vaults is a challenge in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6. This challenge is for the missions of Week 6 and grants XP for your Battle Pass.
What kind of task is this? This challenge is one of the Week 6 missions in Fortnite Season 6. The name of the challenge may be confusing for those who are familiar with the armored vaults from the start of Chapter 2, but it refers to the small metal vaults full of gold bars that can be found in various locations on the island.

Where to find vaults?
Things to keep in mind: Vaults are items that have only a 50 percent spawn rate. In other words, the locations mentioned above, on the Season 6 map, will not always showcase a vault. With a bit of luck, you can quickly find three vaults to open, but it may require several attempts!
Make sure to open the vault and not break it to retrieve the bars. While the vault opening animation is indeed very long and most players prefer to destroy it to gather materials, breaking the vault does not count towards the challenge!
This is undoubtedly one of the most grueling challenges on this week’s list, as the limited number of vaults combined with the fact that they are tricky to open will bring dozens of opposing players to the locations.
Opening a vault is so slow that it’s often best to grab a weapon first, secure the area, and finally open the container without the risk of being interrupted. Also, be careful that the floor supporting the vault doesn’t break!
