In Fortnite, Chapter 2 will soon be replaced by a new chapter. Since Season 8 offered a grand variety of changes, we will show you a specific feature that Epic should definitely carry over to Chapter 3.
What feature are we talking about? It is about the new XP system that was established in Season 8. However, this system already existed in a modified form at the beginning of Chapter 2, but only on the fringes.
It revolves around the stamp cards: A business card that you can complete by fulfilling missions. This system was introduced in Season 1.
You could fill your daily stamp card with achievements like “Submachine Gun Expert.” For that, there was a small XP boost that benefited you.
Now, Epic has completely overhauled the quest system and assigned each NPC on the map a stamp card. As a result, there are no more regular quests, but you must go to each NPC and complete their five tasks. Why this system should remain and not be replaced or altered again will be explained here.
Uncompleted Battle Passes are a thing of the past
If you actively play Fortnite, you should have noticed a change. Epic has truly responded to the community’s cries and delivered something that is worth looking at.
Why should this feature stay? This system offers more advantages compared to the previous quest model:
- You can mark the NPCs on the map using the stamp card menu
- Clear overview of the quests
- Consistent XP and in a large amount
- Repeatable quests that also provide you with a small XP boost
- Daily and weekly stamp cards ensure a massive XP boost
What is different now? Epic promised more XP and less grind. However, this was not adhered to at the beginning of Chapter 2. Many seasons followed in which it was difficult to even reach level 100 of the Battle Pass. Unlocking the additional styles of the skins was like a nightmare.
With the new system, however, players are virtually overwhelmed with level-ups. But it appears in such a measure that doesn’t seem exaggerated. So you don’t have to worry about not reaching a milestone with the newly introduced feature.
Epic may want to shift the focus to relaxed gaming in the known mode. So you should not be concerned about scraping the last bit of XP to somewhat complete your Battle Pass. It should simply happen on the side while the fun is the main focus.
Was the system already good since the beginning of Season 8? Season 8 had a rocky start. The community expressed their discontent about many things. One of them was the XP system. Many players disappeared into the depths of the Fortnite version of ‘Among Us’. In this mode, players could earn a lot of XP without much effort. Epic Games noticed this and decided to take action.
They cut off this method by implementing an “AFK detection system” that notices AFK XP farming. As a result, experience points were capped, and this method was no longer profitable. In return, however, they changed the stamp cards. These now awarded the same amount of experience at each level, rather than more than the previous level, and at an increased value.
The repeatable quests initially only gave Gold. Now you receive experience points for completing them. Thus, it is even more worthwhile to complete quests you’ve already finished.
What do you think of the system? Was it a successful change that pays off for you, or do you prefer the old system? Let us know in the comments what you think.
