It is very difficult to find, as it only appears rarely. However, the Hunting Rifle is not only back in the game, but also stronger than ever.
The Hunting Rifle is now even stronger
How strong is the new Hunting Rifle? In Season 2, there is a new, even stronger version of the Hunting Rifle. The new hunting rifle is categorized as one of the mythic weapons in Fortnite.
This is how much damage the new golden Hunting Rifle causes:
- Body shot: 100 damage
- Headshot: 250 damage
With this weapon, you can eliminate an opponent who has no shield with just one body shot.
If you even hit the opponent’s head, you can eliminate them instantly, even if they have a full health and shield bar.
How strong was the previous Hunting Rifle? The Hunting Rifle is not unknown in Fortnite Battle Royale. It was first introduced in March 2018 (Season 3).
Since then, it has been vaulted and has only been available a few times for a short period.
It has existed in 2 different rarities that caused different damage:
- Uncommon Hunting Rifle (green): Body shot -> 86 damage, Headshot -> 215 damage
- Rare Hunting Rifle (blue): Body shot -> 90 damage, Headshot -> 225 damage

Where can you find the golden Hunting Rifle? While the Hunting Rifle can be found in regular chests, locating it is truly difficult. One might almost think it doesn’t exist.
