In Fortnite you can now secure 4 cool rewards for a limited time if you bring friends back to the game. We will show you what it is and how it works.
What gifts do you get? As part of the “Reboot a Friend” program, you will receive 4 free items from Fortnite. However, you have to bring friends back to the game. Anyone who earns enough points during the event will get these items for free:
- The Glider “Gift Shock”
- The Weapon Wrap “Heartbeat”
- The Pickaxe “Plasma Carrot” (with two different styles)
- The Spray “Reboot a Friend”
All these rewards can be unlocked for a limited time if you have met all the requirements. We will show you how this works.
Bringing back friends – Here’s how
What does this mean? After Fortnite tested the “Reboot a Friend” program during a beta phase, the event is back again. This program is about bringing back friends who haven’t played Fortnite for over 30 days. It’s called “Reactivation of Friends.” Participants will be rewarded with cool gifts.
This is what you need to do to participate: Unlike in the beta phase, everyone can participate now, even if you don’t have friends to reboot. However, you first need to go to the official program page and register there (via rebootafriend.fortnite.com). On the page, there is a button that says: “Get Started.” You should press this button.
Once you press the button, you will be asked to log in. Simply choose your desired platform or log in with your Epic account.
After logging in, 3 fields will be displayed where you can reboot friends. Clicking on each field will bring up a list of friends who haven’t played Fortnite for more than 30 days. Select the friends you want to reboot and then start your matches together.
Important: If you don’t have friends to reboot (i.e., friends who have not played Fortnite for over 30 days), you can simply select a friend from the list and play various matches with them. This only applies if you do not have any friends that you could reactivate – otherwise, you must reactivate a friend to earn points.
This is how points are distributed: For rebooting friends, you earn points that are needed to unlock the gifts. The more friends you bring back, the faster you accumulate the points you need. Here’s how the points are distributed:
- 100 points for the first match with each rebooted friend – a total of 300 points if you bring back 3 friends
- 10 points per match played – for all further rounds you play with these friends
Players who do not reboot friends and only play matches with friends do not get the 100-point bonus. However, they can earn 10 points for each match played – which will take longer. If you want to speed up the process, you should play with several friends at the same time.
This is how many points you need to receive the rewards:
- 100 points: Spray
- 200 points: Wrap
- 300 points: Glider
- 400 points: Pickaxe
The gifts are not just for you, but also for the friends you bring back to Fortnite. So if you were thinking about starting to play Fortnite again anyway, now is a good time.
Until when do you have time for this? The “Reboot a Friend” program will be active until Monday, April 26, 2021, at 8:59 AM. Until then, you have time to unlock the gifts.
So if you want to play with friends who haven’t played Fortnite for a long time, now would be the ideal moment. If you want to unlock the special skins of Season 6, you will need to play a lot of matches anyway, and by participating in the program, you can even secure 4 cool gifts along the way.
