In Fortnite you can secure some rewards for a limited time when you bring a friend back to the game. We will show you what this is and how it works.
What gifts do you get? If you bring a friend back to Fortnite starting December 14, you’ll get some cool free items from Epic. This promotion offers a total of 4 rewards if you fulfill all the requirements. Here are the gifts:
- Emote “Reactivation”
- Lobby music “Tone Shift”
- Pickaxe “Double Claws”
- Weapon skin “Hologlance”
All these rewards can be unlocked for a limited time and if you have met all the requirements. We will show you how this works.
Reactivating Friends – Here’s How
What does this mean? Epic has launched a beta test focused on reactivating friends. This means that you need to bring a friend back to Fortnite if they haven’t played Fortnite for at least 30 days. Anyone can participate as long as they have a friend they can recruit.
What you need to do to participate: To sign up for the beta test, you first need to visit this official Epic Games page. There will be a button that says: “Let’s reactivate a friend!” You should click that.
Once you press the button, you will be prompted to log in. Simply choose your desired platform or log in with your Epic account.
After logging in, you will automatically see the friends who haven’t played for at least 30 days and whom you can recruit. Select the friend you want to start the “challenge” with.
Important: You can only recruit one friend at a time.
Finally, you just need to play matches together to unlock the rewards. There are 4 different levels that secure you the gifts:
- Level 1: Play 1 match together – Emote as a reward
- Level 2: Play 5 matches together – Lobby music as a reward
- Level 3: Play 10 matches together – Pickaxe as a reward
- Level 4: Play 20 matches together – Skin as a reward
The gifts are not only for you but also for the friend you bring back to Fortnite. So if you were planning to return to Fortnite anyway, now would be a good time.
How long do you have? The beta test for reactivation runs from December 14 until January 4, 9:00 AM. You should receive the rewards within 7 days after fulfilling the requirements.
The “reactivate a friend” feature is still in a testing phase. It is not yet known how and when the feature will be available in Fortnite after the testing phase. Since the promotion is taking place during the Christmas season, it might be a good opportunity to explore with your friends what the Winterfest 2020 might bring to Fortnite.
