In Fortnite: Battle Royale is now actually a game mode along with an event for John Wick online. What you can experience and accomplish in “Wick’s Bounty” is explained here.
What is the John Wick event? On May 16, 2019, an event for the new John Wick film actually came to Fortnite. The event had already been leaked beforehand and is now available as a limited-time game mode until May 21.
This is how Wick’s Bounty works
What do you have to do in Wick’s Bounty? The event features the new, limited-time game mode “Wick’s Bounty.” In it, all players start with an arsenal of a combat shotgun and a tactical assault rifle.
Additionally, you have three lives and can respawn twice. All players wear stylish suits like professional killers, even if they don’t wear the new Wick skins from the shop. Only the head remains from the old skin.
This leads to silly scenes where cuddly bears, tomato heads, and chickens go hunting together with Black Widow or the real John Wick. You can either go solo or team up with a squad of four.
In the game, you mainly need to kill opponents. Each kill gives you coins that are counted in a kind of high score. If you are killed, the opponent receives all your coins. The team that first collects 500 coins wins.
The more coins you have, the more visible you are on the map when running or shooting. The three best players will be highlighted as a special challenge on the map and will thus always be the focus of all other players.
Thus, a round of Wick has a completely different dynamic than a regular Fortnite round. Hiding is only partially useful, you play Wick offensively!
What can you win in Wick’s Bounty? In addition to XP for your season progress, there are special challenges for the Wick event. They are nothing special on their own. You should:
- Win a Wick match (gives a Wick umbrella as a glider)
- Play 5 Wick matches (gives a black Wick finish)
- Collect a total of 120 gold coins (gives 500 XP)
- Earn 20 coins in one match (gives 500 XP)
- Deal 500 damage with the combat shotgun (gives 500 XP)
- Deal 500 damage with the tactical assault rifle (gives 500 XP)
Except for the match win, everything is manageable. If you complete 5 of the 6 tasks mentioned above, you will receive a large coin as a back item.
What is available in the shop? In the Fortnite shop, you can also purchase a complete Wick set:
- Wick Skin: For 2,000 V-Bucks (about 20 Euros) you get the real Wick in two versions. Once polished and once battered. Additionally, you receive a back item in the form of a backpack.
- Hammer Skin: For 500 V-Bucks (about 5 Euros) you get a harvesting tool in the shape of a sledgehammer.
- Finish: For 300 V-Bucks (about 3 Euros) you can also get a special gray-black finish for your items.
Overall, all Wick offers can be obtained for about 28 Euros.
How long does the event last? According to Fortnite, the event should end on May 21, 2019, around 9 a.m. So hurry up and get your kills in Wick mode.
Who is this Wick anyway and what is he doing in Fortnite? John Wick is the antihero of the three films named after him movies. In them, he is a former professional killer who just wants to cruise around with his fancy car and play with his puppy.
But then an incident occurs with Russian mafiosos: The dog dies and the car is stolen. Following this, Wick sets out and slaughters through entire hordes of helpless mafioso and other killers who want to stop him in vain.

Already in Season 3, the developers honored Wick and implemented a skin called “Reaper.” It looked surprisingly similar to Wick, but now Epic seems to have received the official Wick license and can bring the real Wick.
