Players of Fortnite (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) are eagerly awaiting the new update featuring the Heavy Sniper Rifle and new content in the PvE mode. However, today, on August 14th, it seems that the update will not happen, as Epic is taking its time. When is the new patch coming?
The highly anticipated content in Fortnite: For weeks now, the new Heavy Sniper Rifle has been circulating in the news about Fortnite. By now, the new weapon has already been officially announced on the news screen.
This usually means that the new weapon will be added to the game with the next update. Typically, such patches are released at the beginning of the week, on Tuesday. But this time, it seems Epic is taking its time.
When is the new update for Fortnite coming?
No patch on Tuesday: Those who were expecting the sniper rifle patch on this Tuesday, August 14, 2018, will be disappointed. Because throughout the morning, the servers remained quiet.
No update has been deployed, and no patch notes or announcements have come through the usual channels.
Update not until Wednesday? Such delays are, of course, nothing new. Epic has previously deployed patches only in the middle of the week. Therefore, the new update is likely to come tomorrow, on August 15th.
This timing has not been officially confirmed by Epic, but since on Thursday the new challenges for week 6 are coming, Epic is likely to deploy the new update as usual beforehand.
Content update expected: This week, a “Content Update 5.20” should arrive. These are usually smaller patches without major downtime that bring only 1 new weapon, a new mode, and minor tweaks for PvP.

The Heavy Sniper Rifle: This new weapon is highly anticipated. The new gun has an absurdly high reload time, but it can take down buildings and opponents with massive damage in one shot.
