In Fortnite: Battle Royale, top streamer Ninja bitterly complained about players using controllers. He claimed it’s all too OP. In response, a pro gamer using a gamepad answered with harsh words.
What exactly did Ninja complain about? Ninja is the biggest Fortnite streamer and extremely ambitious. When he loses, it affects him deeply, especially when he believes he lost unjustly. That’s when salty words are often thrown around.
Auto-Aim is the plague: This was recently the case when he was taken out by a player who was clearly identifiable as a controller user:
Controller-auto-aim type. I’m completely against it, I think it shouldn’t be in the game. If you absolutely want to plug a controller into your PC, then go ahead. But there shouldn’t be aim assist!
Gamepad pro speaks plainly
Ninja is called out: Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff is a professional gamer from the esports organization 100 Thieves. He regularly plays with a controller against PC players in Fortnite esports tournaments.
With a controller, he managed to place 9th in the last big tournament Fall Skirmish. So he’s a professional through and through.
Nickmercs certainly has a completely different opinion than Ninja and has harsh words for his demand for a ban on aim assist:
Anyone with a brain knows that controller players in Fortnite generally have a huge disadvantage. If you really think that we now have an advantage because of aim assist and the latest adjustments to building, then I really don’t know what to say. I don’t understand you guys.
Ninja should compete in tournaments: Later, he directly criticizes Ninja’s professional career so far. Ninja is world-famous as a streamer but rarely competes in major competitions:
I don’t want to insult [Ninja], but he doesn’t play in any of the major tournaments. Maybe he should participate in a few competitions and see for himself that it really isn’t the same thing. When you see what pro PC gamers can do and how fast they are, there’s very little that you, as a controller player, can counter.
Epic has no plans to remove aim assist: Epic likely feels similarly. Because so far, there is no information that aim assist will be removed from the game.
