Fortnite (PC, PS4, Xbox One, iOS) is constantly expanding its arsenal of weapons. Therefore, a new weapon is coming soon: the Light Machine Gun (LMG)
Fortnite is one of the games that receives the fastest updates and expansions from the developers. Every week, there is something new in the game, be it more skins, game modes, challenges, or new weapons or items.
Recently, there were steering rockets, incendiary C4 bombs, and powerful portable fortresses. Next up is a new weapon, the Light Machine Gun (LMG).
Is the LMG a minigun with more kick?
The Light Machine Gun is already visible on the startup screen of Fortnite. So it should be coming soon, possibly this week in the new update.
But what can the Light Machine Gun do in Fortnite: Battle Royale? According to the description text, it is said to have a high rate of fire, a large magazine, and a long reload time.
On the data mining site StormShieldOne, initial statistics are also available. The Light Machine Gun has the following stats:
- Damage: 26
- Magazine: 100 rounds
- Rate of Fire: 8
- Reload Time: 4.75 seconds
How accurate these values are is currently unclear. With these stats, the Light Machine Gun would inflict significantly more damage than a minigun, but shoot slightly slower. Since almost no one uses the minigun anymore, the Light Machine Gun is likely to become an interesting alternative.
Alternative to the Assault Rifle?
The LMG might even rival the ever-popular assault rifle. It inflicts more damage per shot, but shoots slower and has only one-third the magazine capacity.
It will likely appear in the quality tiers “Rare,” “Epic,” and “Legendary.”
