Fortnite (PC, PS4, iOS, Switch & Xbox One) is expected to receive a new sniper rifle soon. According to data miners, the new sniper rifle will be able to shoot through walls. This weapon could be the announced nerf of the dominant building gameplay in Fortnite.
The Heavy Sniper Rifle in Data Mining: The data miners “DieBuddies” have dug up a new weapon in the code. It is a massive heavy sniper rifle. The weapon is modeled after the real-life Barrett M82. This is a powerful “Anti-Material Rifle” capable of taking down light vehicles and helicopters with its 12.7mm rounds.
Therefore, the gun is expected to cause a lot of damage. And it has a special trick up its sleeve.
New Sniper Rifle Breaks Through Walls
Building no longer protects: The new rifle is said by the Buddies to have the special property of shooting through walls. Specifically, the first wall hit by the rifle is expected to be completely penetrated. Those standing behind it can expect to receive 157 damage!
This should be enough to instantly kill a player with full health and half shields, even without a headshot.
Extremely long reload time expected: As a disadvantage, the rifle is said to have a reload time of over 4 seconds, which is even longer than that of the notoriously slow bolt-action sniper rifle. You will need to aim very well when using the new weapon. A missed shot will be difficult to compensate for.
Epic likely to Nerf Building
Fortnite is supposed to become more accessible: The new rifle could be a concrete large anti-building measure. In the past, Epic has already hinted that they want to restrict the wild building a bit and flatten the skill curve in Fortnite.
