Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS & Xbox One) receives a new, limited-time mode with Patch V.3.3. In “Blitz” everything goes significantly faster. Ideal for those who are in a hurry but still want to have fun! The mode is set to start today, Monday.
The Fortnite developers at Epic Games seem to be making optimal use of the “Games as a Service” concept. Each week, new content is added, the game is constantly evolving, and it is tailored to meet the demands of millions of players.
This includes new game modes, which traditionally come into play every Monday and entertain fans with new fun (or annoying) gameplay mechanics for a few days.
New Blitz mode makes everything faster in Fortnite
The new mode is called “Blitz” and brings fast-paced matches on March 19, 2018, where everything goes at lightning speed. After a maximum of 15 minutes, the fun is over. This is due to the following features:
- The zone shrinks as soon as the game starts. So you are constantly on the run, and those who want to loot or camp leisurely face a swift death.
- There is much more loot:
- Chests spawn at their locations with an 80 to 90 percent probability (normally it’s 50 to 70 percent)
- Ammo chests spawn at their locations with an 85 to 95 percent probability (normally it’s 65 to 80 percent)
- The typical item spawns on the ground are almost 100 percent guaranteed.
- Supply drops now come in intervals of 80 instead of 180 seconds. Ideal for completing last week’s challenge!
- Supply drops now drop to the ground in 30 seconds (instead of 60).
- Jump pads now appear much more often (Ideal for quickly getting out of the zone)
New mode is ideal for hurried and offensive players
The new mode should flow extremely fast due to the adjustments mentioned above. With the constant threat from the zone, camping and leisurely equipping is almost impossible. Instead, players must always be on the move and take every opportunity to equip.
Due to the fast matches (the zone closes after 15 minutes at the latest), players can finish a match much quicker. Ideal if you just want to play a quick round in Fortnite without unexpectedly taking 30 minutes or more.
The new mode “Blitz” was supposed to start during the day in Fortnite. The new mode has now started. Approximately at 3:30 PM our time, it kicked off.
