Season 8 is in Fortnite in full swing and brings some changes with update 18.00. We from MeinMMO show you what changes are to be seen this time and what Kevin, the purple cube, has to do with it.
This is what happened before Season 8: The Mother Ship caused an invasion, aliens built breeding grounds and abducted players. Even entire POIs had to suffer.
So it looked like everyday life in Season 7, but that’s now over. After we managed to defend ourselves against the aliens and their huge UFO was destroyed, we can now expect a map with new changes.
Here are all the map changes in the Season 8 map
At first glance, not much has changed. Isolated wreckage of the Mother Ship now adorns the map of Fortnite.
However, there are still some features that Epic Games added that are worth mentioning.
Downed wrecks of the Mother Ship
The Mother Ship was destroyed in the live event and now the full extent of the destruction can be seen.
Individual areas around known places have changed due to the downed wreckage. At the broken UFO parts, so-called pink slip-and-slides now hover. With them, you can quickly dash around the respective crash site with little effort.
Furthermore, smaller Kevin cubes lie on the polluted alien ground. These can be picked up and used. When used, you become an almost invisible ghost – sounds like good camouflage.
Kevin is back and with him his friends
Through the Operation: Skyfire, we were able to destroy the Mother Ship of the aliens. But that has now caused more trouble than expected. Since the huge UFO housed a whole population of these purple beings, they are now trapped with us on the island.
Kevin is not only available in purple. Due to the crash, some cubes have changed color. These can now be found in blue and yellow as well. But don’t think you can take on them; you might experience your blue miracle.
Tilt World – Pickaxes on the new Season 8 map are parallel dimensions
If you drop out of the Battle Bus, one of these nasty pickaxes on the map should have caught your eye while flying. Don’t worry, it’s not a puberty island behind it, but a hidden world.
These orange domes are small dimension bubbles. If you dare to pass through, expect a place contaminated by aliens.
In these bubbles, you can get the new alien weapons or fight against stone guardians who do everything to drive you out of their territory. You should definitely keep an eye on it; it could be worth it for you.
More minor map changes:
- Restart buses were added to smaller POIs
- Small tilt world anomalies were added (were deactivated due to causing bugs)
- Gold donation machine was added for stationary turrets
- New NPCs were scattered across the map
- Smaller IO camps were added
