Fortnite: Battle Royale brings you a new vampire skin in the shop today. However, the bloodsucker seems to cause more laughter than fright among many fans.
What is the deal with the new skin? Today, on October 19, 2018, a new skin appeared unexpectedly in the Fortnite shop that did not appear in the last leak. “Sanctum” is part of the “Circle of Night” set and is intended to be the male version of the vampire “Dusk” from the Battle Pass for Season 6.
How much does the skin cost? Sanctum is available as an epic skin for 1,500 V-Bucks. That’s about 15 Euros. A cool cape comes included. If you like, you can also get the harvesting tool “Moonrise” for 1,200 V-Bucks (12 Euros) on the side.
What does the skin look like? Sanctum is a pale young man in black leather clothes, a cape, and a mask that somewhat resembles that of the supervillain Bane from the Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises.”
In fact, the skin is supposed to depict a nasty vampire, but many fans do not take the bloodsucker seriously.
Fans see more emo-drift than terrifying vampire lord
Vampire mocked: On Reddit, Sanctum has already caused a stir, though perhaps not quite as the developers intended. Many fans find the vampire unintentionally funny and do not hold back with biting and mocking comments.
So many players immediately picture an emo teenager. “It’s not a phase, mom,” a user comments.
And others see the vampire as a reference to the former teenage band Tokio Hotel. Another user observes, “How is he going to bite someone with that mask on?”.
New version of Drift? Quite a few players see Sanctum as an “angsty” teen goth version of Drift. Indeed, Sanctum shares many similarities with the carefree graffiti sprayer from Season 5.
Even the mask is similar to Drift’s. Was Drift turned into one of them by vampires at the end of Season 5?

Sanctum has fans too: However, it must be said fairly that many players also really like the skin. Just like the Gloom Skin Raven, the vampire outfit is well received by a certain group of players.
The cape is the highlight: Some buy Sanctum especially for the cool cape that should match wonderfully with the purple version of Omega from Season 4.
