In Fortnite (PC, PS4, Xbox One, iOS) have been sending a strange llama test image on all screens in the game for a while now. Recently, there were also noises, one of which seems to be a Morse code with a disturbing message. Meanwhile, comets are crashing into Fortnite.
What is happening right now? Just before the end of Season 3 in Fortnite: Battle Royale, there are increasingly strange occurrences in the game:
- For a month now, a comet in the sky is getting closer
- Smaller meteors have been seen as shooting stars in the sky
- The comet itself produces a strange humming that shows the image of an emote in a spectrogram
- On a roof in the city Tilted Towers (which is supposedly to be destroyed by the comet), there are clues to a “comet party”
Recently, something else has been added: All televisions that you can find in the game are sending a test image with a llama, the symbol animal of Fortnite.
Spooky message from the TV
What happened now? According to Fortnite experts and dataminers “DieBuddies”, there are now sound files for the llama TVs. They are supposed to be typical warning tones that are played on televisions in the USA during impending disasters.
But one of the sounds suspiciously sounds like a Morse code, and “DieBuddies” checked it immediately. The audio file (from the Buddies) is embedded here. It actually came out with a message, but it seems quite disturbing:
“The don’t want us to k …”
It seems that the sender of the ominous message has not gotten further, the rest of the “K-word” is missing.
What does the Morse message mean?
What could the message all mean? DieBuddies and a large part of the fans want to interpret the “k” as “know”. Then the message would mean:
“They don’t want us to (know)!”
Are aliens coming in Season 4?
Who are “they” in the message? Many players now believe that the comet is actually an alien ship. And that the “they” in the message refers to aliens who do not want people to know about them.
This also fits with a storyline from the PvE mode (video of the dialogues is embedded above), where one gets on the trail of the mystery of a missing NPC. Here there are several clues that the comet has something to do with aliens and even ties in with the zombies from the PvE mode.
Aliens as a theme? If an alien invasion is indeed the background of the comet, a lot may soon change in Fortnite. And the theme of Season 4 might then indeed be aliens.
On the other hand, Epic recently showed a picture in a tweet that seems to depict a superhero figure. Will the theme of Season 4 be superheroes? Or superheroes vs. aliens? What do you think?
