Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) is set to entertain millions of players in online matches soon. The battle royale shooter is set to appear as Monopoly. However, the board game version is supposed to be more than just Monopoly with Tilted Towers and Shifty Shafts.
This is what Fortnite Monopoly looks like: Via Twitter, Epic Creative Director Donald Mustard announced that there will soon be a Fortnite version of the popular board game Monopoly. Instead of streets and community spaces, there will be well-known Fortnite locations like Tilted Towers, Shifty Shafts, Paradise Palms, and Flush Factory.
As tokens, you have stylish cardboard cutouts of Fortnite heroes like the Banshee, Skull Trooper, and Omega.
More than just a Fortnite copy of the standard game
What differentiates Fortnite Monopoly from the original? In regular Monopoly, you buy properties and try to bankrupt your opponents with exorbitant rents. This, of course, does not fit with Fortnite. Therefore, this version is money-free.
How does Monopoly work without money? Instead of money, players have life points. The goal is to reduce them and be the last one standing. You set traps, build fortifications on your properties, and use the Dance Bomb. There is an extra die to perform such effects and inflict damage on enemies.
The properties are not bought, by the way. Whoever is first to land on one owns it and can immediately build things. The only elements left from the original game are the corner spaces “Free Parking”, “Go to Jail”, and “Go”.

When is Fortnite Monopoly coming out? According to Donald Mustard, the colorful Fortnite Monopoly is set to be released on Monday, October 1, 2018.
Fun Fact: Monopoly was originally designed by socialists and intended as a teaching tool against capitalism and monopolization. The game is deliberately set up to be unfair and the winner is often clear early on, yet the game drags on for a long time, generating more negative feelings as it progresses.
