Developer Epic Games has postponed the presentation of the planned Fortnite skin for Twitch streamer Kathleen “Loserfruit” Belsten, as the streamer says. The reason is apparently the unrest in the USA. The situation could lead to a delay in the start of Season 3. The planned live event could seem tasteless.
This is the skin in question: It was not officially confirmed, but leaks made it clear: The Australian Twitch streamer Loserfruit was to receive her own skin in Fortnite. This is a special honor that has only been granted to Tyler “Ninja” Blevins so far. He complained terribly until, in January 2020, it finally happened.
Loserfruit has now confirmed on Twitch that she was indeed supposed to get a skin today, on June 3rd.

“Not the right time”
This is why the skin has been postponed: As the streamer says, she and Epic Games decided at short notice that it was not the right time to release the skin.
The unrest in the USA is certainly behind this. The United States is currently experiencing times of turmoil, since on May 25th, 45-year-old African American George Floyd died during a police operation in Minneapolis.
The circumstances in the USA have led to Call of Duty: Warzone postponing its season start, and Sony has delayed the PS5 reveal to an indefinite future date.
Fortnite: Start of Season 3 and live event on Saturday uncertain
What about Season 3? A big live event in Fortnite is actually supposed to take place now on Saturday, June 6th. This was meant to be the grand finale of Season 2.
Originally, this was supposed to happen last week but was postponed at short notice.
If Epic assesses the situation in the USA as so grave that they postpone the reveal of a special skin, it is highly possible that the live event and thus the start of Season 3 will be postponed as well.
Especially because the live event involves a “doomsday scenario”, meaning it is related to destruction, it seems unlikely that Fortnite would actually hold this event now on Saturday. Apparently, it is planned to devastate the area around “The Agency” in the middle of the Fortnite map.
Speculation confirmed – Season 3 and live event postponed
Update 6/4 9 AM: Our assumption has been confirmed. Epic Games has indeed postponed the start of Season 3 and the live event.
At the moment, not much is known about Season 3 in Chapter 2 of Fortnite. However, there are persistent rumors that it could be a “water season.”
