In Fortnite: Battle Royale, Season 7 Chapter 2 has started! Nasty aliens are planning an invasion and have destroyed the zero point. This has left its mark on the map. We at MeinMMO will show you what is new on the map and in the world of Fortnite.
This is happening in Fortnite: The start of Season 7 has finally arrived after a longer server downtime, along with some changes to the game. The theme of “Aliens and Invasion” now prevails in Fortnite, which has also caused some changes to the map. With the start of the new season came, in addition:
- A new battle pass with cool content
- New weapons in an alien look
- New materials to craft weapons
All further changes that were introduced with Season 7 have been summarized in our German patch notes. We present the new map of Season 7 in more detail here. This is how the map looks after update 17.00:
The outline of the map has actually remained the same, but there are now new places to discover. These are marked with question marks or displayed in gray until you have visited and discovered them yourself.
This is what is new on the Season 7 map
In the story trailer of Season 7, it was shown that the aliens appeared with a huge UFO and destroyed the tower, where the zero point was sealed. This destruction has left its mark and is now affecting the map. In addition, entirely new places appeared or already known places received a name change.
New Place: The Crater
What kind of place is this? The center of the map has changed again, as there is now a large purple crater. This seems to be the consequence of the explosion of the zero point. In this place, purple trees and strange bushes grow, which presumably come from the aliens.
This place offers you a few chests to loot, but objects are far apart. Furthermore, the area is quite open and doesn’t provide many hiding spots.
New Research Stations on the Map
What are these places? In Season 7, new stations were added to the map. They are likely monitoring the mysterious aliens and phenomena. You can recognize them by their large, glowing antennas visible from afar. In total, there are 7 stations:
- Northwest of Believer Beach, at the edge of the map
- At the swamps, southwest of Slurpy Swamp
- At Stealthy Stronghold in the middle of the jungle
- East of Weeping Woods on a hill
- Southeast of Misty Meadows on a mountain
- Southwest of Retail Row at Lake Canoe
- Between Craggy Cliffs and Steamy Stacks on a hill
This has changed as well: Apart from the new places you can explore, some things on the map have also changed. There are now named places that have received a new name:
- “Sweaty Sands” has become “Believer Beach”
- “Colossal Crops” has become “Corny Complex”
- Stealthy Stronghold is no longer a named place
However, the biggest change that you will notice is the huge UFO that is now hovering over the map in the sky and has already been shown in the story trailer. It is even larger than the Fortnite island itself and causes parts of the map to be dark.
The start of Season 7 brought not only changes to the map of Fortnite. You can now also unlock many different skins in the new battle pass of Season 7. Among them are aliens, Rick from “Rick and Morty”, and even Superman makes an appearance in the pass.
